It was 1987 when Kevan Cooke first adopted the Rex Rodent alter ego, as founder member and lead guitarist of the Reading-based spoof metal band Megawatt Vomit. The Spinal Tap and Bad News inspired band were not blessed with musical ability, and thankfully ceased to exist within a few months without inflicting their highly questionable songs upon the world.

More than thirty years later Rex Rodent resurfaced with the release of singles The Roomba Song in 2022, One Minute Space Opera and Drifting In Space in 2023, and A Slice of Pi in 2024. Expect these singles to be followed by an album of Sci-Fi themed rock songs in 2025.

Unlike the music released by the rest of the DJ Bimbles Song Factory roster, the Rex Rodent releases do not rely heavily upon AI tools, and instead feature human-penned songs performed on real musical instruments.
